Profile & Role

EQT Equity is looking for an additional Associate to join the investment team in Stockholm. Ideally around mid-August 2017. The person will, for the first 9 months, work with the fundraising team as a representative from Equity – learning about the broader aspects of Private Equity and understanding the customers’ focus and needs. After this initial period the person will transition into the Equity team as an Investment Professional.

Key responsibilities and tasks

As Fundraiser & IR Associate 

  • Assist investors with information as part of their due diligence process on EQT funds - gather information from within the organization
  • Active participation in the fundraising processes
  • Material preparation and updates ahead of investor meetings
  • Perform portfolio reviews for the investors

As Investment Associate 

  • Generate ideas on new investment opportunities
  • Coordinating and managing advisors during due diligence processes
  • Performing market and company research
  • Financial analysis and valuation
  • Supporting portfolio companies in specific projects, for example add-on acquisitions, strategy development and exit preparations

Candidate profile

  • 0 – 1.5 years of relevant experience, preferably within business development, consulting, private equity or investment banking in the top tier firms. Other possible profile is within a corporate setting, in an M&A department, as CEO of a start-up or with a smaller firm doing add on acquisitions or similar. Additional prior internship and start-up experiences are considered a plus
  • For the right person, we can be flexible on background and number of years of experience
  • Commercial approach, understanding of market drivers in general and ability to analyze targets from an industrial and strategic point of view, not only financial
  • Financial modelling and valuation skills – at least very strong number proficiency and quick to learn
  • Knowledge and curiosity about the local Business community
  • Strong academic record. Bachelor or Master’s degree in relevant academic field
  • Fluency in both English and Swedish
  • Excel and PowerPoint skills.
